For most standard X-rays, your pet will be gently positioned on a narrow table, and the scan will take only a few moments. In some cases, sedation or anesthesia may be recommended to reduce movement and stress, especially for CT or MRI exams.
Your veterinarian will explain any prep instructions – for example, your pet may need to drink plenty of water before a scan, pause certain medications or herbal supplements, or fast for several hours.
